Boys Birthday

I am WAY behind on my blog.  I'm in August & here we are almost done with November.  Oh....well....one day at a time.  This year on August 7th, we had a birthday party for our 2 boys with both sides of our family.  I combine them since their birthday's are only 17 days apart.  It seems a lot easier & they don't seem to mind at all.
This year we had it in our back yard.  It was great weather & everything turned out good.  It was a surf-beach party.  We had the kids come in their swim gear, had lunch & played games.
For dessert we made sugar cookies in the shape of surfboards with everyones name on them.
It was pretty fun to do that!

The picture above all the kids are playing a water game.  I took a water balloon, poked a small hole in it & had them pass it around while it squirted them.  I made the mistake of trying to poke a hole in the balloon over the kids & it broke right onto of my niece!! She wasn't very happy with me, as you can tell..... her big sister is comforting her at the top of the circle.......nice aunt huh?!?

It turned out to be a great party.  I enjoyed planning it & having it.  The boys got A LOT of nice presents.  THANKS to all of you who came....it was great to have you all there.

I'd say Ethan was pretty happy with what he got!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO OUR BOYS!! WE LOVE YOU & LOVE ALL YOUR ENERGY!!

My football hero

A friend in our ward paints football helmets.  One of  Kevin's co-workers asked if he could get him to paint his sons helmet to the color of the team he was playing for.....he didn't want to spend the money to get a new one.  We had the helmet for a few days......& the boys LOVED it.  Kevin loves to play football with them & the boys love it too.  Here is my cute little Jackson getting ready to play.  SET......HIKE

Uinta High Adventure Camp

Kevin went with the Young Men this year to the High Adventure Camp up in the Unitas.  He had a great time.  He loves all that kind of stuff.

This is the good looking group.  For their uniforms they decided to tie-dye shirts.
I thought it was pretty cool.
There is my handsome hubby shooting clay pigeons, rockin' his shirt!

I think that all the boys had fun up there.  I would too with all those activities......shooting, repelling, mtn. biking, mtn. boarding.....just to name a few.  I wish the YW would have done stuff like this growing up.....but now I know how to make rolls :)

Ethan sleeping

Ethan is our craziest sleeper ever! We have a few pictures of him, since he was little, in weird positions while he sleeps at night.  This one is my favorite.  Who knows how he got into that position & stayed asleep?? Crazy Ethan.

Jackson's 3rd Birthday

My little boys is 3 now! In the morning we went to got see Over The Hedge.  We decided to call my cute niece...Jovi......to come to the movie with us.  We meet Marilyn & Andrew there also.  It was fun, a dollar for a movie is not bad at all.  The kids really liked it.

When Kevin got home that night we headed off to Fat Cats for some bowling & dinner.
I think this is the first time the boys have been bowling....they had the bumpers up & the little rail stand.
They had fun playing.
It was a great time......until about 4 fames until the end of the game I noticed that my little 3 year old was going to beat me.....I guess I need to step up my game.......well here is the results of me stepping up my game....
......The little turkey beat me!! I got beat by a 3 year old!! Wow.....never thought that would happen.
I guess that put me in my place.  Rematch time!! :)  Nice job Jackson!
After a humiliating game......for me at least........we went to the Pizza Factory for some yummy Pizza and Bread sticks.  I love their sticks....they are YUMMY!!
When we got home we decorated Jackson's cupcakes.  I asked him what he wanted for his birthday dessert & he said little cupcakes.  I thought it would be better if they decorated them instead of me.
They really had fun decorating them.
Here is our cute birthday boy!!
 & the handsome brother.
It was a great day.  I am so happy to have my 2 boys! They make every day an adventure.
Jackson~ We love you very much & are glad you came to our family 3 years ago.  Even though it was a roller coaster ride with you getting here.....it was well worth it!  You are a very happy & talkative boy!
We are excited to share many more birthday's with you.
Love You Forever!!

Pool time

It has been nice this year, we have been able to go swimming many times.  My parents own my Grandparents condo since they passed away a few years back.  They have access to a pool there.  When they lived there, we never sent swimming because my grandparents felt like they needed to be there with us & I felt bad dragging them down there for hours while we swim....so we never did it.  This sounds horrible but now that they have passed away......we have been swimming TONZ!
I would just take the boys....strap on their life jackets & away they went.  It was nice they just swam around on their own.  It is a decent size pool & not a lot of people there....since it's somewhat of a retirement community.  Usually it is just me & the boys but.....on the 24th of July we went as a family.
It was SO much fun to have Kevin with us!
Then a little while later my mom and sister showed up for some fun.
I love being in the water...I could stay forever!  There is my handsome Kevin.  The horrible thing is that Kevin came away with a HORRIBLE sunburn....I have never seen him in so much pain.  OUCH!
The boys had fun jumping into the water & being thrown into the air.
It was an awesome time.  Hopefully next year we will get lots of swim time in....but most likely someone will renting the condo by then :(

Temple night

We have a group of us that go to the temple together each month.  Then each one of the couples take turns taking care of all the kids while the other couples go.
I LOVE having a set night to go to the temple each month & someone to take my kids.

This time was our turn in July to take care of the kids.  We only had 3 other kids to take care of this time.  I thought it would be fun to set up a water slide & let them entertain themselves.  It was SO much fun.  We have fun getting to know the kids better.

It was GREAT! The kids love it.  It was starting to get cold so we all decided to get warm but one of the kids, Ryan, decided he wanted to stay out.  He was amazing.....that water was....FREEZING.....& he said he was not cold at all.  He was letting Jackson spray water in his face and everything.  It was a great night.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!
I LOVE this time of year......this is my favorite holiday. I can't pinpoint it to one thing.....maybe it's the colors, that fall is in the air, the smells.....I love decorating for Halloween & dressing up. I need to just slow down & enjoy this time.

Drive-in

Every summer I want to go to the Drive-in but we never make it........but this year.......... we actually went.  On the 21st of July we invited our friends to come with us to see Despicable Me.  It was fun!
It turned out to be a good night, the weather was good & the company.

We took the Jeep & put down the windshield..........but the boys liked the truck idea better.
Which was fine with us........date night baby!! Thanks for taking all the kids :)
Plus our friends made GOOD popcorn.
They are definitively invited back :)

Both of the boys were pretty tired after the show.  Here is Jackson just chillin' in the back of the Jeep.
Here is Ethan about half asleep.
It was such a FUN night.  We will have to do it again.

Vegas BABY!!

Our friends who live in CALI.......invited us to Vegas with them & stay in a nice resort!! Of course we said YES....we see them about once a year.  It was going to be over the 4th of July weekend......can you say HOT!! .......but .......it ended up not being as hot as I expected.....it was just right......102-104
Our friends weren't going to be to Vegas until Saturday so we decided to leave on Friday & drive to St.  George to see Kevin's grandparents.

We took off in our rented KIA......we have had some crazy stories of car problems when we have driven to California in the past......so we decided to rent a car.  Plus I like the idea of putting wear and tear on someone else car & not worrying about getting out car dirty &............. you get to drive different cars.......even if it is a KIA :)

It was fun to see his grandparents.   Kevin's mom was there also.  Her parents haven't been doing so well.....so the kids take turns going down there to be with them.  We were lucky to have her down there when we went.
AND.....again I didn't take pictures of that......I need to have my camera on me at all times!!!
Right when we got down to St. George we decided to take the kids to a place called Fiesta Fun Center.  They had been in the car for awhile & needed some running around time.  It was like a smaller version of boondocks.....there was hardly anyone there.....it was a Ghost town...but the kids loved it.

After we spent some time with his grandparents we drove to Logandale....which is about an hour outside of Vegas.  Kevin has a mission companion who lives there....they invited us to stay with them that night.  It was fun to meet them & hear about mission stories again.  He is a cop in Vegas! It was fun to hear all the stories & you can tell how much he loves his job.  Then in the morning we took off to Vegas!
THANKS for the nice accommodations......hopefully we will see you all again!
