Boys Fishing Trip

Kevin took the boys on a fishing trip up to Mill Hollow.  You might ask why am I not there? Well, that was the day I was setting up for my Relief Society party.  No......he didn't just bail on me.  He asked if he could help out in anyway....but I told him to go & have fun......we women can handle it.......I truly didn't know what we were in store for.

Last time we took the boys fishing about a year ago......Jackson fell in the water twice.  Needless to say.....I told Kevin to keep a close eye on Jackson.  When they got home......what happened.....he fell in!! Crazy boy.  I thought this video was pretty cute of him after he fell in.

The boys had a great time fishing as you can tell by Jackson's face despite the falling in.
Boys are resilient aren't they?

I love that they love doing whatever.  I love spending time with them.  I am glad that Kevin is a man's man & like to do all those guy things.  He is a great dad!

RS Luau

For our RS activity in June we did a Luau.  It was very interesting!  We planned on having it outside this year in my backyard.  We figured if we planned it at the end of June that the weather might cooperate.  Last year it was a down pour on the day we did it but, luckily the activity was a service project inside the church.

SO.......my wonderful activity leader Kelli, her husband, 3 boys & I were setting up for the party.  OH.......i have to tell you, on this day in the morning it was windy all day.  I kept hoping it would be nice.  Right before we were going to set up it started to get nice but there were a few mean clouds in the sky.
We contemplated for a minute & decided to still set up in my yard.  As we are setting up the wind was kicked up again & the mean clouds got bigger & bigger......the wind was getting harsh.
An hour before it was going to start ........we decided to head back to the church and set up!! AHHHH
We took down everything & threw it in the cars & went to set up.
I must say it was a lot faster setting up without the wind interfering.
Well........we got it done right on time & it looked great & turned out great.
But as it goes...right as we were done setting up in the church................. how was the weather outside you might ask??
Wonderful, calm, peaceful........i think that was a test of faith & obviously we have none & failed horribly.

A BIG THANKS to the Matua men!!
We couldn't have done it with out you.  They set up all the tables & chairs & shade things.  Then they had to take them all down & bring them back to the church.

We had dinner & then some awesome entertainment.
We had dancer do Hawaiian, Tahitian & Samoan dancing.  It was SO good.  They were great.
Then they taught us all some moves......hips moves! There is the bishop doing his moves.
I took this picture of one of the girl's boys....max....very cute.
He kept getting a drink of water every 2 seconds.
We also had a coloring contest & this was the winner!
They we all very creative but this one was pretty cute.

Thanks for the fun night girls & THANKS to Kelli  & your family for all your work.

No more 4 wheeler

I was out playing a softball game on the 28th of June & came home around 10:30 pm to my 4 year old still up.  I asked what was going on & Kevin said....you are gonna be mad!!  HMMMM.  Then Ethan said come here and look at my bike.  We opened the garage & he took off on his 2 wheeler!! I am a goober & started crying.  He is just getting too big.  Why did he say mad? He said that I missed him doing this.  I told Kevin it was fine.  I have been here for a lot of firsts....he can have a few of them.
While I was gone Kevin & the boys were outside hanging with the rest of the kids & Ethan starting riding the neighbors bike.  Landon's bike is small & had no petals so they can learn to balance faster.  Kevin saw him & thought it was time to take the training wheels off.
Kevin said he really didn't need any help & just did it by himself.  CRAZY!!  I guess we could have taken them off earlier, but i just never felt he was old enough.  I just want them to stay small forever.
Nice job ETHAN!

Fireman Boys

My boys are definitely BOYS.  They run around all day non stop going from one activity to the next.  I really love it & love having them around.  I think I would worry if they didn't do all that & keep me on my toes at all times.  They love playing in the water & getting all wet..... especially Jackson....he loves it.  Ethan is a bit more cautious but not my Jackson.  He will be soaked from head to toe.  They were outside & of course Jackson with no shirt....he is not really into the clothes & shoes things.  He takes them off the first chance he gets. He needs to live on an island.

I heard them out there talking about fires & stuff....so went to go check it out.  They are pretty cute.  I love how Ethan has the hose between his legs.....very fireman like.

They should be out there watering.....lovely dead lawn.
Oh-no.....my little fireman is not so happy.  He got squirted in the face.

Small Town Fair & Reunions

Our wonderful friends invited us to their town fair by their house.  It was fun going to a small town fair.  The boys had a fun time.  The same people that did a train ride at a party we went to were here.  It is a bunch of barrels vut out to make seats & a small tractor pulls its.  They guys dressed up in his billy bob overalls! It is a cute ride.
It is funny to see the boys different personality.  Ethan is not so daring at first but once you get him to do things.....he will want to do them again & again.  This may sound horrible....but oh well......sometime when i know that he will love something....like a water slide.....i will take him up the slide while he is crying & make him go down with me......& about 2 seconds down the slide he is loving it & wants to go again.  I know....mean...but I know he will love it.
On the other hand.....JACKSON.......he will do pretty much whatever.  They had these big blow up slides & both of the, when up at the same time & Jackson just went down the slide all by himself..... leaving Ethan in the dust!  Ethan wouldn't come down....he said it was SCARY.  Then Jackson turns to me......"It not scary"  Pretty cute.  Finally the guy had to go get Ethan & go down with him.  Ethan was not wanting to go again & Jackson kept saying.....again!! It is good they have different personality.  It makes things interesting.  Thanks for the fun day!

After the fair in the morning we headed over to a park for my mom's side of the family reunion.  It was fun to see my all my cousins.  It's a pretty small family.  I have 3 aunts, 2 uncles, 6 cousins and 10 of their little kids.....second cousins?? I never get that.  However.....one of my uncles & 3 of my cousins were not there..........so it was a little bit smaller but fun!!
They made a big slip-n-slide.  I wish I would have joined in on the fun.....I was just about to go down in my clothes but didn't.  It was cool & fast

This picture below is of Jackson getting out of the way before Kevin crashed into him.  Kevin would get going so fast he would have to stop himself before he went too far on the grass.  Nice job on the paryt MOM!

Father's Day

How horrible am I?? You don't really need to answer that.  :) For Father's day I took a lot of video but took one picture....hello what was I thinking.  Yes...I am behind again & will get back to the present soon.

For Father's day the boys & I made Kevin a wonderful breakfast, lunch & dinner.  He was just pampered all day by his wonderful wife!! We gave him all presents.  I love celebrating Father's Day.  It's a good day to tell Kevin how much we love & appreciate him.  He truly is a GREAT father.........the boys LOVE him.
One of the presents we gave him was a grill basket.  What would father's day be like without something for the grill.....don't all guys know how to grill??

HaPpY FaTheRs DaY!!

Diamond Rio

Another part of my birthday is we went to a Diamond Rio concert.  I like going to small town concerts.  When we were dating we went to a few small concerts like this in small towns.  It was fun we saw BlackHawk a lot...it seemed like they came a lot for awhile then stopped.  It was great because it was la good concert for a cheap price.  I love going to concerts but hate paying the price for a ticket.  I love the atmosphere.  My favorite so far has been Kenny Chesney.  Now, I would pay some money to go see him again.  He is very good at what he does.

This is a picture of Diamond Rio.  I like their music, they are really good.  I can't believe how long they have been around.  I remember being down in my aunts basement apartment & her listening to them on her HUGE boom box on a tape.  Funny how things change.

We went with Kevin's bother & wife......his mom & dad............ & some friends. It was fun!  They cute, happy couple in the front are expecting their 2nd girl........3rd child in November! Yeah!!
THANKS for the fun night

Southam kids

Every since Kevin & I got married, Kevin's aunt has recruited us as sitters for her kids.  I love taking care of their kids.  It has been about 9 years that we have been taking care of them.  It's been fun watching them grow up.  We started when their 2 boys were really little around 1 or so & they were in a different house.  Then when their little girl Allison came & they moved into a new house we got to see that too.  I love taking care of their kids at their house, it's a great house.  We have lots of  fun  with the kids & I always try to clear my schedule when she calls, so I can watch them.  They are all older now so, they are pretty independent & very cute kids.

This is the only picture I took one time I was watching them.  It's of Ethan & Allison.  We went to play in the water.  I really don't like going here with my kids because the concrete gets very slippery & when my boys get sprayed..........they run & then fall and hit their heads.  GREAT! They really should have installed some squishy stuff on the bottom.  We went to a place like this in Vegas & they had that kind of floor.  It was nice.
I love hanging out with you guys.  Thanks for letting me be apart of your life.

Fire Station

For a YM activity, the boys went to the fire station.  There is a fireman in our ward, so Kevin decided to take Ethan with him.  He loved it!

The boys love dressing up like fireman, so this was pretty cool for him.  I even was a little jealous.  I don't know why but it's excited for me to be around firetrucks.  I was able to ride in one, the time my grandpa was being transported to another hospital.  Not a very good time to be riding in a fire truck, but i will take what i can get.

Here is the whole group.  It's a bad picture but it was the only one with Kevin.  It was cute, Ethan is being held by George the fireman & looks very excited.... doesn't he??

mmmmm......strawberries

For part of my birthday while I was out shopping for myself......I had decided this year instead of making Kevin find a present for me.....I would just do it myself.  Don't get me wrong....he does great....but this year I wanted some new clothes, so needless to say that may be a little hard for him.
When I got back him & Jackson had made chocolate dipped strawberries for me! YUMMY!
I haven't had one FOREVER....they tasted so good & looked so professional.
Thanks......It was so sweet.

Family Day at work

Kevin's work this year had a FAMILY DAY.  It was on the 16th of June......I know WAY behind on my blog.  I will get there again.  They had all these activities set up outside but it was not very good weather so we all stayed inside.  They provided lunch & had a band.  Then walked around to the different booths on nutrition and stuff.  They even had LEO the LION from REAL soccer.......only the boys wanted nothing to do with him.
The best part of the trip was seeing where my Kevin talks to me everyday & the boys loved writing on all the white boards......the only problem is that they erased some important stuff on a girls board that sits by Kevin.....Lovely.  If she is like me I would never remember what was on there.
It was a fun day.

how does your garden grow?

This is our 3rd year having a garden & it keeps getting bigger & bigger.  We do the square foot gardening......which I LOVE!! There is no weeding.....and it is SO EASY! We have 4 boxes right now.

This one has snow peas, sugar snap peas, green beans & broccoli.
The boys go out there & eat all the peas.  Also, a new addition to out flower bed is an old RED FLYER WAGON.  My mom has kept it on the side of her house FOREVER & one day it dawned on me to plant flowers in it & use it in my flower beds.  I will have to take another picture of it......i love it.

This one has cantaloupe and pumpkins in it.

The next 2 have..... zucchini, yellow squash, tomatoes, cilantro, garlic, green onions & cucumbers.

The side of our has has ALL raspberry bushes!! I am head over heels for raspberries!! We have some in buckets, so when we move we can take them with us.  I don't think the raspberries ever make it into the house....because we eat them all right there on the spot.
Also, we have a blueberry bush but it won't produce fruit until next year....which i am excited for.
We have an apricot tree in the corner.  I was all ready this year to can them & make jam & all that good stuff......but due to the weather they frozen & now NO apricots for me :( I was excited to learn how to can them & make some apricot nectar.....YUMMY.  Maybe next year.
I can't wait for out squash plant to grow!!  I love it on the grill.

Camp out

On my birthday weekend we decided to have a little camp out in our own backyard.  The boys ADORE running in & out of the TENT.  It was such a gorgeous night, I just laid out on our mattress & watching the boys run back & forth.  We watched a MOVIE in the tent...Princess & the Frog.  I am very FOND of that movie.  I like RAY the little lighting bug....very cute.  The soundtrack is great also.....except they don't have one of my favorite songs on the soundtrack....crazy.

bRoThERs

I LOVE having two boys.....i think i use the word LOVE too much.  Maybe I need another word.  How about.....ADORE.....FANCY....FOND of.... KEEN to.... PARTIAL to.....
I'm glad that we have 2 boys...they are cute when they play together & are FOND of being with each other.  Don't get me wrong they are BOYS & have their wrestling matches.

I thought it was CUTE the other day, I saw Ethan outside helping Jackson ride his bike.  Jackson usually rides a trike or a scooter....but he Flintstones his trike.  He refuses to pedal so, Ethan is trying to teach him on his bike.  What a good big brother.

Somewhere over the rainbow

I LOVE being outside while it's raining and after......I LOVE the smell of rain.  Also, I LOVE to see rainbows after.  It that enough use of the word LOVE :) This rainstorm brought 2 rainbow.
They are not very good pictures but it makes me SMILE.

Here is my Ethan rockin' his tie-dye shirt that Kevin made for him at a carnival.  Ethan & Jackson would wear them everyday if I would let them.  Perfect shirt for looking at a rainbow!

Neighborhood water party

WAY back on June 4th all the neighborhood kids had a water party.  We have a lot of KIDS in our neighborhood right around our house.  It's FUN to see all the kids outside playing together.  While the kids played....... all the moms sat under a shade tent & just chit-chatted!

My little Ethan is tall kid with no hips.  His bathing suit kept falling down & reveling his bum.  It was quite a show.  I went out and bought a new swimming suit the next day so no one else would get a show!
 It was funny.

I LOVE SUMMER!! I love to be outside & enjoy watching my kids have fun.
