Memorial Day

For Memorial day we went to see both set of my Grandparents, some other relatives related to me &
my BIG BROTHER!    I didn't get a chance to know him but I feel like his is apart of my life.  He was only here for a short little while but I know we will see him again.  I love how every year my brother Ryan puts some kind of ball on his grave....last year was a golf ball & this year a tennis ball.
We love you Chet!

This is a picture of the view from my paternal grandparents grave in Provo Cemetery.  I can't believe it has been almost 2 years since they passed away.  It just seems like yesterday they were here.  They were in my life for a long time.  I miss them a lot & think about them all the time but will see them again too.

This is part of my crazy family in Provo.
Here is my maternal grandparents.  I wan't lucky enough to have them in my life for very long.  It's weird that my grandma passed away when I was 2 but I have very clear memories of her & also of my Grandpa who died when I was 6 years old.  It would have been nice to have them around.
My boys & cute Jovi were having fun looking at all the graves & flowers.
The kids liked the ones that would have lots of stuff around the grave & that had stand that said mom & dad. I thought it was funny, they would sit down by them & stay awhile.  It was a great day & very fun to remember all the people who have passed on before us.

Let's go Kayaking

I  love summer! One of the things i love about summer is playing in the water.  I love going kayaking or river rafting.  Kevin got out his kayak for the boys to play in.  They thought it was pretty cool!  I'm so excited that Ethan is getting old enough that we can take him on one of our less intense trips.
I love having 2 boys.  They play really well together & always ask where the other one is when they are away from them for 2 seconds.  Way cute!

Mother's day

The Friday before mother's day a box of flowers showed up on my porch for me.  I thought "Oh.... Kevin must have bought flowers for me for Mother's Day!" I didn't open them & waited for Kevin to come home.  Well, when he came home i asked him & he said "No, I didn't get you any, do you have an admirer?"  Not that I know of.....but you never know!  I opened the box & found some roses from my admirer.....MY DAD!!  That was such a awesome surprise. On the card he wrote:
Dear Daughter: May this Mother's Day be very special for you and man you receive all the love you can handle.  Thanks for being such a sweet and caring person with the finest sense of humor.  I love you deeply and cherish the time we spend together.

WOW...i just love my dad.  Dad~ i love you too! Thanks so much for making my Mother's Day.

Just so you know...... Kevin also made my Mother's Day VERY special.  He is a great husband! I love that he is always thinking about others regardless of what day it is.

New oven

Out with the old in with the new....well new to me.
We are in the process of updating our kitchen....replacing the counter top, painting the golden oak cabinets... amongst other things.  I was getting really tired of cooking on our stove.  One of the burners is bent, so i never used it & I was getting tired of cleaning up the drip pans every time my oatmeal would boil over.
Poor Lindsay...i know :)  So...i looked on my favorite place...ksl...and found a good deal on a Kitchen Aid oven & nice flat top stove!! It was in pretty good condition & works like a charm.  Now i have convection, self cleaning & digital.  Yeah me!  The awesome thing about it, is that we sold our old one the same day we bought our new one on ksl in about 2 hours.  Kevin just had to convert our 3 prong oven plug to a 4 prong.  He can do anything.....i love my handyman.  That is one of the reasons i married him, he loves to learn & figure things out.

Temple night

Once a month we go to the temple with 4 other couples.  Each month one couple stays home & takes care of all the kids.....which can be up to 10 kids at a time.  It's pretty great having someone to take your kids once a month, a temple date set & to go with friends.  The month of April was our month.  We took 7 kids to the church & let them run around for awhile, since it was snowing & our house it too small for all those kids...lovely! It was fun to hangout with them & get to know all the kids.

Then we came back to our house & made some cookies.  The girls were pretty cute, they said they wanted to have their own cooking show & they are awesome at cooking. For some reason the frosting turned out horrible. It was the same frosting I always make so i have no idea what went wrong.  Anyway...so i let the girls go loose on trying to make it better. They were fun to watch!
I thought this picture was so cute of Alli & Ethan.  She is pretty gorgeous, no wonder he is snuggling her!

Yep, this is what the Moore's will do to your kids if we take care of them.  We send them back in less than perfect condition.  It was a fun night.  I think this temple date night is a pretty good idea.

Conference Weekend

This last conference the boys actually watched some of it.  I was impressed.  I thought it was pretty cute of Jackson laying down just like his dad.

Then we had spaghetti for dinner.  The boys had a blast trying to eat it.  Open wide!

Soccer

Kevin went to the DI a bit ago & found a soccer net for cheap.  I love good deals & recycling, it makes me feel good.  The boys thought it was so cool & it is.
I love now that it is nice outside & that we can run around outside.  I was a little tired of us not being able to go outside & do some good old fashion exercising.

Ethan loved being the goalie.....he was pretty good at that.  He is funny, he is like his mom, once he starts laughing he can't stop & everything is funny to him!  I love summer & my soccer players!

Red & White game

We went to the Red & White game at the U stadium.  It was such a gorgeous day! It got me so excited about football, i love to watch the games! I think it's a fun atmosphere.  I miss going to the games when we were in the student fan club, but I am in luck this year.... we got a season ticket with some friends, so i might be able to catch a game or two! It was fun to take the boys this year, they loved it.
I love all the red, it looked awesome!

After the game we went down on the field.  It was fun,  the boys would try to get to the end zone while Kevin tried to block them, it was pretty funny!

Hopefully this will be a good year....if not, no big deal I still love to watch them play.
GO UTES!!

T-ball

This spring we signed Ethan up for T-ball.  Although he told me he really wants to golf, he says "it's so easy all you do is hit the ball into the hole." Don't we all wish!  It was fun this year because his cousin Madisyn played on the team with him...she is on the right.  It was fun to watch him play with other kids & see how they all dog pile to get the ball.  He loved  it & would get sad when it was cancelled because of all the crappy days in April.
He did a pretty good job hitting the ball.  I just enjoyed being outside to watch him.  After the game they would get treats, we would come home & eat them on the porch.  That was too much fun for them :)

Preschool

It has been so great to have summer somewhat here.  I love being able to be outside instead of being stuck in my house all day.  I really am an outdoor girl & love the sunshine.  Jackson & I have loved walking Ethan to school....riding bikes, scooter & wagons.  We have a little carpool we have been in, which has been nice but now that the weather is nice he asks me all the time if we can walk.  He will wake up on the days he goes to school & asks me if  it is shorts weather!  I guess he may take after me with the outdoor thing.
This will be Ethan's last year at a neighborhood preschool.  He has gone there 2 years & is ready to graduate.  It's been fun to see how excited he gets & to have a few hours for him to be with friends.  I'm gonna miss taking him & how close it is but Jackson will be starting up there in September....crazy! Ethan will be going to another preschool for a year & then start Kindergarten...now that is crazy! They grow up too fast.  I need to take the time to enjoy the little moments more.
This is a day that i had to take the carpool & Ethan wanted to run home instead.

FHE

Kevin took pictures of our family night. I guess he was impressed by my play dough story.  For those of you who are keen to the stories in the Book of Mormon.  We had a lesson on  Ammon,  when he was tending the kings sheep & cut off the Laminites arms.  As you can see so clearly the king is the big orange blob & the 4 green blobs are sheep laying down.  It was pretty fun, they were very into it.
Although Jackson was not to happy that night.

EASTER

On the 4th of April Kevin's side of the family celebrated Easter.  I was a bad person & took hardly any pictures, just video.  Oh well, did however get some cute pictures of my niece at the bottom! She is such a cutie pants...i love you Caroline!
We had a fun time at my in-laws.  We all had a good dinner & then went downstairs for the easter egg hunt since it was cold outside.  This year they hid all the eggs in two rooms, the kids lined up in two line & they let them go in a room one at a time and get one egg .  Then they had to go back in line again. It was fun & pretty organized so all the kids weren't running around everywhere....since there were 12 kids.

I told you she is SO cute!

Movie Night

Every once in awhile we like to have MOVIE NIGHT! We get out blankets, pillows, popcorn & sometime I get the mattress from Jackson's bed & bring it downstairs, so we can all fit on it.  This time we watched Princess & the Frog.  However by the time we start we didn't have enough time to watch the whole movie.  I don't think we have ever watched a whole movie during movie night.  We try to finish the movie later but we usually have to return it to the library or a neighbor by then....oh well.  The boys were pretty cute...during the movie there is a part where the alligator is going down the Bayou with the fireflies & a good song comes on.  Well, they got up and danced all crazy around the room.  I decided to get the soundtrack to the movie & when I got it,  the song was not on there......what a rip.  Oh well I guess I will have to find it somewhere else.

Playdough

I try my best to have craft time with my boys or something to that affect each day.  This time I decided to make homemade play dough.  I love to make it because it's easy & lasts a long time.  The boys have a fun time playing with it.  As you can see Jackson like to wear no clothes most of the day.  I guess I will need to keep an eye on that :)

Field Trip

Ethan's preschool this year went on a field trip to Hogel Zoo.  It was fun to be there again.  Last time we went when all the animals had babies & this time there were more babies.  I think I like seeing the babies with their parents.
The only animals we didn't get to see were the Zebras & Polar Bears, I  heard the Zebras passed away :(

We took Riley up there with us from his school.  After the field trip was done I took them all on the train.  I don't know why but I like going on the train rides no matter how small they are.
After we were done with Hogel Zoo it was lunch time so I asked them where they wanted to go.  Riley suggested Winger's.  She said it was a tradition.  Last year after the field trip her mom & us went to Winger's, so I guess it is a tradition.  I was a little nervous taking 3 kids by myself but it worked out fine, they were great!  When we finally got home, Jackson laid down on my bed & went right to sleep.  I guess we wore him out.  He looks dead in this picture because he is so straight...creepy.

What a day!!

The other day on March 22nd, Jackson thought it would be funny to make his mom go crazy.  Well, he succeeded. I was doing housework this day & when I would come back to see what the boys were doing I would find some fun surprises around the corner.  You would think I would learn not to leave him alone say,  after the second time but no, it takes me a few time before I learn.  I guess that is how Jackson was that day too.  He really didn't care if he was in trouble or not.  He enjoyed all the time outs & more.
Once he was out he would reek havoc again as soon as I was out of sight.
The top picture is what he did to the floor & the cookie sprinkles.  He took my 5 sprinkle holder & shook it all out onto the floor.  The other picture of what he did, didn't turn out very well.  I had some cookies in a sandwich bag in the pantry & he got to them by pushing a stool over to the pantry..... climbing up onto the garbage can....... & then proceeded climbing up the shelfs to get to the cookies.  He then laid them out onto the pantry shelf, got the sugar shaker & poured it all over the cookies!

The 3rd time he attacked was my cereal as you can see in the 3rd picture.  Yes, I eat Shredded wheat hot with butter on it.  It is inherited from my mom.  Jackson has seen me do this, so he decided to make himself a tasty snack.  When I found him this time he said "I have snack just like you."
BREATHE, LINDSAY

4th attack......  I keep a box of alcohol swab amongst other things in a basket in his room & he dumped the box out & then proceeded to shove them into a bottle of lotion.
The last & final straw when he decided he needed a drink.  A few hours had gone by with no attacks, but you have to go out with a bang, right?  He got in the fridge & got some juice in a glass bottle.  On the way out of the fridge it slipped out of his hand & this full bottle of juice & glass went all over the floor.  I couldn't believe at how many little pieces this glass broke into.
By this time I'd had it, so I put myself in time out! I think that works better for me.
I guess I needed to clean the floor anyway...so thanks for the help buddy!

Can I just tell you how happy I was that day.....so happy.....joys of motherhood.
Just a FYI : No one was harmed in the discipline process of this :)

Relief Society

I recently got called to the RS presidency....2nd counselor.  I was the Enrichment leader before so this is not too much of a change.  For our RS birthday party we decided to go up to This is the Place Heritage Park.  It was a nice day to be up there, a little cold but nice.  There was about 17 of us that went.  We went around to 4 different buildings there & they had little presentation about the women pioneers.  Then we got to go on a train ride around the park...which i enjoy train rides.  I never realized how much was up there.  I think I will go back again & take my family.
Thanks girls for the fun time

Bunk beds

In March one day I decided it was time to get out the bunk beds.  Ethan has been asking if we can buy some bunk bed so he can sleep on the top & Jackson can sleep on the bottom.  I said lucky you we have some downstairs stored away.  I had this set in my room when I was at home, I loved it because it has a futon on the bottom.  My parents saved them for me...thanks ma & pa! The boys love it.  We have to move Jackson in the middle of the night back to his crib because he sleeps in later then Ethan & he would wake up when Ethan would get up.  Jackson seems to not mind, he hasn't said anything about waking up in a different bed.  Don't you love the Leopard print sheet??? Those were mine when I was a teenager.  I guess I need to go out & get them some boy looking ones.

GO JAZZ

Last Christmas some of my family went to the big Sing-A-Long down at the Delta Center.  I can never say ESA, I like Delta Center better. It was a fun time with lots of people!
We rode the Trax down & people were packed in like sardines.  I would be telling my family "there is no way we can fit more people on this train" but, then the doors would open & 5 more people would pack in.  It was a little crazy but fun.  I felt bad for Ethan because he is at the level of everyone's bottom half....lovely.  There also was a lady that kept hold my waist, I kept pushing her hands away & then had to tell her to stop.  I know mean but it was making me fall over!
That night they gave everyone a free ticket to a Jazz game.  The game we finally got tickets to was the to the Timberwolves game that was on St. Patrick's Day.  The boys & I went along with my mom, sister, brother & his 2 kids.  Kevin wasn't able to come, he had YMs that night :(   Needless to say he wasn't too excited to sit in the nosebleed section.  Who could blame him.  The boys have never been to a Jazz game so i was excited to take them.  It was fun, I painted the boys faces for the Jazz & St. Patrick's day.  The crowd was a bit rowdy that night.....it was awesome...I think it must have been a little to do with all the green beer.  The boys were great! Jackson got a little tired when there was about 4 mintues to go.  Luckly i got Jackson to look at me once, so i could take his picture.  I tried to take his picture another time as you can see & he was not too into it.  We probably go to one or two Jazz games a year & this year we have been to about 5.  I love going to the games, i love the watching most sport live.
 You gotta love it baby!

The Miles Cabin

Once a year we get together with some of our friends that we have known since we were little.  We usually get invited to a cabin up at Brighton Ski Resort.  I absolutely love going to it !! It's a rustic 1960s cabin that you love.  I would love to have a cabin like that when we are older! It just has a cozy feel to it.  This year we were planning to go up but the pipes froze & broke, water was all over the bathroom area...so we were unable to go.  Lucky for us her husband's family just bought a house in Midway, so we re-routed our destination.  How lucky are they (and us!!) to have 2 vacation homes in the family.  This house was huge & very nice.  Kevin said his arm got tired running the vaccum it was so big.
It was a lot of fun, i love going on vacation to escape.

There were 4 couples that went up.  It was nice, we left our kids with sitters &
spent the night up there.
Poor Melissa worked a night shift & was really tired that day.  I know how that goes, it messes with you.

Kyle & Shilo brought their cute little girl Caroline with them.  She is SO cute.  Kyle was feeling a little ill, so he is not in any of these pictures :(
Thanks Miles for the fun time & thanks to mom & dad for taking the kids.
